How long is treatment?
Every case is unique, and progress depends largely on your consistency and commitment. Most myofunctional therapy programs last between 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual goals and the complexity of your case. We continue to monitor progress and support you throughout the full course of therapy, and typically up to a year following.
What is Myofunctional Therapy?
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is a neuromuscular re-education approach designed to restore proper function of the facial, tongue, and airway muscles. It supports optimal breathing, posture, chewing, swallowing, speech, and sleep. By addressing the root causes of dysfunction, this therapy promotes lasting, meaningful change.
What services do you provide?
We provide specialized therapy for myofunctional disorders, feeding difficulties, swallowing challenges (dysphagia), oral habit elimination, orthodontic functional guidance, early transitions to solids in infants, and speech sound disorders.
OMT with Orthodontics?
Treatment may be recommended before, during, or after orthodontic care. For optimal results, we aim to begin therapy prior to the start of orthodontic treatment and continue with follow-up care after removal of orthodontics.
Do you work with tongue tie releases?
Of course we do! Pre- and post-operative myofunctional therapy is essential for optimal outcomes following a tongue tie release. Therapy before the procedure prepares the muscles for proper function and improves mobility, while post-operative care supports healing, prevents reattachment, and reinforces new functional movement patterns for long-term success.
Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider, which allows us to offer intentional and customized care without the limitations of insurance restrictions. While we’re happy to provide Superbills for potential reimbursement, please note that we do not participate directly in the claims process. HSA/FSA cards are accepted, and flexible payment options are available.
Virtual or in-person?
Yes! We offer teletherapy for eligible clients, as well as in-person sessions—and you can even do a combination of both. Many of our myofunctional therapy sessions are highly effective online, especially for older children and adults, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule.
Why isn't this information common knowledge?
While it would be nice if we all had the same knowledge, all doctors, dentists, and therapists have varying specialties
and training. Myofunctional trained professionals have
specialized training & knowledge that occurs outside of their degrees.
