INFANT DEVELOPMENT • AGES 6–18 MONTHS

The Foundations of Lifelong Airway & Oral Health

Between 6 and 18 months, your baby transitions through crucial developmental windows—introducing solid foods, expanding vocalizations, and establishing nasal breathing patterns. An infant oral motor, airway, tissue, and feeding evaluation offers a gentle, comprehensive look at how your child’s mouth, tongue, and airway work together.

FOUNDATIONS

It Starts With Your Story

It Starts With Your Story

We’ll talk about:

• Birth + delivery • Feeding history • Developmental milestones • Sleep • Digestion + reflux • Colic • Sickness + cough • Ear infections • Eczema + allergies • Habits + behaviors • What frustrates or regulates your little one

Because the patterns you’re noticing at home matter.

CLINICAL SCOPE

A Holistic, Gentle Look at Daily Function

Our evaluations are play-based and stress-free. We observe natural movements and patterns that impact long-term health:

• Breathing: Nasal vs. mouth breathing during rest & sleep. • Feeding: Chewing efficiency, swallowing, and cup drinking. • Oral Motor: Tongue elevation, resting posture, and palate shape. • Sensory: Texture acceptance and oral sensitivity.

NEURODEVELOPMENTAL LENS

The mouth is a sensory + motor system.

We observe sensory processing, understanding of space, gag reflex development, fine and gross motor skills, as well as body and oral tension. We are watching how your baby moves, explores, regulates, communicates, and interacts with their entire environment.

THERAPEUTIC INTEGRATION

A little bonus for our littlest patients.

For evaluations under 18 months, you have the option to include a Myo Munchee Bebe free with your treatment plan—designed specifically for 6–18 months to support early chewing and oral development. You may also select from our recommended EZPZ feeding tools free of charge if you would rather not have the MyoMunchee Bebe, or already have one.

PERSONALIZED CARE

Every Infant Follows a Unique Path

Whether you have observed mouth breathing during sleep, difficulty transitioning to textured table foods, or simply want to ensure your baby’s palate and facial development are thriving, we provide clear, supportive guidance tailored to your family.

Wondering if an infant evaluation is right for your little one? We’d love to talk with you!
